Never finished with the work of assuring quality care, Deborah guided the hospital into its next 25 years, with innovative programs such as building neighborhood emergency medical centers.

Wendy Thompson, the dynamic general manager for Telemundo 64, the local affiliate of the Spanish-language television network, arrived in the USA at age 21. She graduated from Montgomery College, where the mission statement begins, “we are in the business of changing lives.” Her next step was a business degree from the University of Maryland and the rest is history.

Liz Lerman, choreographer, performer, writer, educator, and speaker, founded Dance Exchange in 1976, cultivating the company’s unique multi-generational ensemble, with dancers whose ages span five decades, into a leading force in contemporary dance. In 2002 her work was recognized with a MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship.
